Privacy Policy
Last Updated: 2 September 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information the İlmihalPro mobile application and this website (ilmihalpro.com) collect, why they collect it, and what choices you have. İlmihalPro is published by Özcan Çalışkan, based in İstanbul, Türkiye, who is the data controller for the purposes of the GDPR and Turkey's KVKK.
We do not ask you to create an account. We never collect your name, e-mail address, phone number or postal address, and we do not sell personal data.
1. Information We Collect
- Location. With your permission, the app reads your device's location to calculate prayer times, show the Qibla direction and find nearby mosques. The coordinates are used on the device and sent to a geocoding service to resolve your city; we do not store your location history on our servers. You can use the app without location by choosing your city manually.
- Advertising identifier. The app shows banner ads through Google AdMob. On iOS, AdMob can only use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) for personalised ads if you allow it in the App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you decline, ads are still shown but are non-personalised, and every feature of the app remains available.
- Push notification token. If you enable notifications, we store the Firebase Cloud Messaging token for your device together with the platform, app version and selected language, so prayer-time and announcement notifications reach the right devices in the right language. The token identifies a device installation, not a person.
- Subscription records. If you purchase İlmihal Pro Premium, we store the store transaction identifier and a randomly generated installation identifier so we can verify and restore your subscription. Payment is processed by Apple or Google; we never see or store your payment card or billing details.
- Diagnostics and usage. Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Analytics collect crash reports and aggregated usage events (such as which screens are opened), along with technical device information like model, operating system version and app version, so we can fix problems and improve the app.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide the core features: prayer times, Qibla direction, nearby mosques, dhikr counter, Qur'an reading and educational content.
- To send the prayer-time reminders and announcements you have enabled.
- To verify, restore and maintain premium subscriptions.
- To display advertising, which keeps the free version of the app available.
- To diagnose crashes and understand which features are used, so we can improve the app.
3. Legal Bases
Where the GDPR or KVKK applies, we rely on: your consent for location access, push notifications and personalised advertising; the performance of a contract for subscription handling; and our legitimate interest in keeping the app stable and secure for crash diagnostics and abuse prevention. You can withdraw consent at any time from your device settings.
4. Advertising and Tracking
Advertising is served by Google AdMob. On first launch the app asks for tracking permission before any tracking identifier is used. In the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom we additionally present Google's consent form (User Messaging Platform) so you can choose how your data is used for advertising. You can change the tracking choice at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking on iOS, or by resetting your advertising ID on Android.
5. Third-Party Services
The following services may receive data as described above:
- Google AdMob — advertising. Privacy Policy
- Google Firebase (Cloud Messaging, Crashlytics, Analytics, App Check) — notifications, crash reporting, analytics, abuse prevention. Privacy information
- Google Maps and Geocoding — the nearby-mosques map and resolving coordinates to a city name.
- Apple App Store / Google Play — payment processing and subscription validation.
- YouTube — some educational content is played through embedded YouTube players, which are subject to Google's privacy policy.
These providers operate internationally, so your data may be processed outside your country, including in the United States, under the safeguards those providers publish.
6. Data Retention
- Push notification tokens — kept while the app stays installed and notifications remain enabled. Tokens that the messaging service reports as invalid are deleted, and tokens unused for 12 months are removed.
- Subscription records — kept for the life of the subscription and then for up to 10 years, because tax and consumer-protection law requires transaction records to be retained.
- Crash and analytics data — kept according to Firebase's own retention settings, which we set to 14 months at most.
- Location — not retained on our servers at all; the last known position stays on your device and is removed when you uninstall the app.
If you ask us to delete your data, we remove everything we are not legally required to keep, within 30 days.
7. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your data, to object to or restrict processing, and to complain to a supervisory authority. Because we do not hold account details, please include your device's push token or your subscription transaction identifier so we can locate the relevant records. Write to us at the address in section 10 and we will respond within 30 days.
8. Children's Privacy
İlmihalPro is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. Security
Traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted with HTTPS, and requests are validated with Firebase App Check. We apply administrative and technical safeguards to the data we hold, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The revised version will be posted on this page with a new "Last Updated" date, and significant changes will be announced in the app.
